  • County Clerk’s office
  • Driver’s license office, if you are applying for or renewing your driver’s license

  • WIC, and state-funded offices serving those with disabilities, if you are a client of these offices
  • Armed forces recruitment offices, if you are a prospective member of the armed forces
  • High schools, if you are a student or staff member

Absentee Voting

Absentee voting is allowed if the voter is:

  • Advanced in age
  • Ill or has a disability preventing a trip to the polling place
  • A Student who temporarily resides outside the county
  • Temporarily residing outside of Kentucky
  • Confined in jail pending acquittal or conviction of a crime
  • Working a shift outside of the county during all hours of voting
  • A member of the Armed Forces or a spouse or dependent of a member of the Armed forces
  • A U.S. citizen living overseas who will be at least 18 years of age before the next General Election and whose last residence prior to going overseas was in KY

Rules and Deadlines

  • Absentee ballots can be found with the county clerk and must be requested at least seven days before an election.
  • Ballots must be returned to the county clerk.
  • Ballot must be received by 6 p.m. local time on Election Day for the ballot to be counted.

Early Voting

Yes, for any voter who is going to be absent on Election Day 12 working days before the election at the County Clerk’s Office.

Identification Requirements

At registration:

  • Current and valid photo identification or
  • A current utility bill,
  • Bank statement,
  • Government check,
  • Paycheck
  • Other government document that shows the name and address of the elector.

At polls:

  • Election officers confirm the identity of each voter by:
    • Personal acquaintance or
    • Document, such as a driver’s license, Social Security card, or credit card.
